Anna Ruth Bly Champion was the only child born to Claxton and Davie Crockett Bly on December 19, 1925, in Greenville, Texas. She attended and graduated from Greenville ISD. Ann went to Wylie College in Marshall, Texas, and after graduation she became an educator. In 1952, she married Harry Glen Champion of Commerce. They had one daughter, Andre, who preceded her in death. They resided in Commerce and were both educators in the Commerce school district, where she taught for over 50 years.
During her career as an educator, Ann touched many lives. She was a cheerleader for education, and she paved the way for her students to reach for the sky and achieve their full potential. Ann had a passion for service to God and her community. She was committed to her church and her beloved "Meals on Wheels".
She leaves to mourn her passing cousins, Herschell Williams and Melva Hill of Greenville, Yvonne Carter of Dallas, a special niece Tara Whitlock of South Carolina, several other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and daughter.
