Martha "Bernice" Gilbreath, 71, of Commerce passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011, in a Tyler hospital.
Bernice was born on January 21, 1939, in Wood County, Texas, to Edd Crump and Ruth Crump. On June 29, 1983, she married Sam Gilbreath in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was a dress shop owner and homemaker.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charlie Glass; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Gilbreath; two sons: Gary Adams and Charles "Bubba" Gilbreath both of Commerce; her daughters: Dana and husband Josh Ferrell of Sulphur Springs, Stacie and husband Chad Hebert of Vidor, and Becky Glass of Commerce; her brother, Ed and wife Betty Crump of Honey Grove; her 4 grandsons: Steven Glass, C. J. Glass, Billy Don Glass, and Adam Hermann; her granddaughter, Tisha Glass; and 6 great-grandsons: Landon, Heston, Austin, Alex, Dakota, and Austin; and, 2 great-granddaughters: Kaitlyn and Brittany.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Tiemyer of The Way Bible Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Horton Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 16, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
