I have fond memories of Betty when the Commerce high school band went to Colorado for a band contest. The last time I saw her at the beauty shop with my mom she hadn't changed still smiling as always while we caught up on life. Prayers to the family for comfort and understanding

My dear friend and "Other Beloved Mother" Betty Cummings had a wonderful sense of humor and was so much fun! Our family enjoyed travelling with John, Betty and Kellie as we were growing up. They went to Mississippi to meet both sets of my grandparents and my parents many siblings and their families. We had a wonderful time visiting Elvis's home Graceland. We also went to Mexico and New Orleans.
I had the most fun spending the night with Kellie and being cared for and cooked for by this lovely lady! She and John provided a wonderful example of a loving couple who worked hard to provide for their family. They were very involved in our lives, driving us to away football games, Six Flags, twirling camps and competitions, roller skating and many other fun places. She was the outgoing, funny one and John was the quiet and strong Dad. She had an infectious laugh and he had a terrific grin, often looking up from his newspaper to sweetly acknowledge us silly girls. They were dear friends to my parents for over 50 years.
They adored their grandchildren and their grandchildren adored them!!! Ninety seems like a long time to live, but Betty will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. Please pray for them during the coming days and weeks! Betty is now reunited with her precious John in heaven!
People talk about when they "got cable TV" but I don't ever remember not having cable because Kellie's Mom worked at the cable company in downtown Commerce.
Kellie, Diane and Carolyn cared for their aging parents well and modeled this biblical mandate to us all. We love and respect them beyond measure!
