Betty Jane Winstead

Betty Jane Winstead, 83, of Cumby passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016.

Betty was born on October 24, 1932, in Commerce, Texas, to Thelma Hammonds and Joe Lytle. She married Billy Joe Winstead in Greenville on December 6, 1949.She was CNA for over 40 years.

She is survived by her two sons: Billy John (Ruby) Winstead of Cumby and Benny Sim (Becky) Winstead of Como, TX; her daughter, Joann Hill of Cumby; her grandchildren: Betty McCarter, Misty Morrow, Ruby Winstead, Bryan Winstead, Billie Winstead, Sherry Brooks, Benny Winstead and Anthony Winstead; and, her great grandchildren: Jaylee, Jonothin, Jaydin Cooke, Sherrie, Shyann Brooks, Jamye, Samuel, Bryson McCarter, Hayden, Joseph Winstead, Jourdyn, Ashtian Martin, Kinzlee Winstead, Brett Rodriquez and Presley Winstead.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Winstead; her great grandchildren: Harley McCarter and Jaycee Cooke; her son-in-law, Jessie Hill; her sisters: Lorene Newman, Anna Jean Lytle and Ruby Davis; and, her brothers: Leo Lytle, J A Lytle, Bobbie Lytle and John Lytle.

Funeral services for Betty will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 12:00 noon, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jeff Taylor officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Burial will be held at Caney Cemetery in Campbell, TX.

Pallbearers will be Samuel McCarter, Bryan Winstead, Benny Winstead, Jonothin Cooke, David Martin and Curtis Lytle.

Interment service follows chapel service.
