Brett Eugene Petty, 46, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at his residence in Cumby.

Brett Eugene Petty, 46, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010, at his residence in Cumby.

Brett was born on October 5, 1963, to Dane O. and Catherine Swann Petty in Greenville. He graduated from Cumby High School in 1982; and, later on, he retired as a dairy farmer.

He is survived by his parents; a brother, Greg Petty of Cumby; a sister, Stefanie Petty of Cumby; and three aunts: Janelle Dean, Mary Callan, and Patsy Petty, all of Cumby.

Visitation will be held at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Services will be conducted at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jim Coone officiating and with music by Danny Reichle. Interment will follow at the Cumby City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Rusty Cockerham, Tony Burns, Raymond Helfferich, Mike Davis, Eddie Speights, and Dewayne Gore.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Petty, Ronny Petty, David Cooper, and David Penland.
