Bruce Tater, 83, of Campbell, TX, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011.
Bruce was born on February 3, 1928, in Boston, MA, to Tessie Cohen Tater and Samuel Tater. On June 11, 1957, he married Anne Kamen Josephs in Nashua, NH.
He was a retired furniture manufacturer's representative for over 34 years and a Roadrunner's Member.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Korean War Veteran.
Bruce Tater was an on-air Jazz personality for 32 years at KERA in Dallas and at KETR in Commerce, Texas. He donated his vast collection of jazz records to the University of North Texas jazz library.
Bruce was a graduate of Wharton College in Philadelphia, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Kamen Tater of Campbell; his sister, Phyllis Ritvo; his children: Laurie Josephs Wiss, Allison Tater Hoge, Lisa Tater, Ron Josephs and Sam Tater; 10 grandchildren; and, 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital, North Texas Jazz library or charity of your choice.
Private services will be held by the family.
