Carlton "Bubba" Grant Cheney

Carlton “Bubba” Grant Cheney 66, of Cooper, Texas passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 surrounded by his family.  He was born in Ladonia, Texas on November 16, 1956 to Trueman Cheney and Sherry Haggard Cheney. Bubba loved the Lord, his children, his grandchildren and his family. He was an amazing carpenter and could out dance anyone on the dance floor. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, listening to music, and probably telling a tall tale every now and again.

He is survived by his mother Sherry Cheney; daughter Brandi Murrey and husband J.T. and daughter Jordan Cheney; son Bradley Cheney and wife Tabatha; grandchildren Aubri, Aidan, Grant, Ryan, Hadley, Finley, Ethan, Haley, Landen, Tristan, Wade, and Charlie; sisters Charisse Holdren, Denise Gill, and Annette Abbott, brothers Jack Cheney and Mike Cheney.

He was preceded in death by his father, Trueman Cheney, sister Lisa Cheney, niece Kirsten Holdren and father-in-law Benny Fisher.

Funeral service will be held on Monday July 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Jones-Walker & Son.  A visitation will be held one hour prior.  Interment will follow services at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ben Franklin, TX.

Pallbearers will be Josh Hicks, Cody Cheney, JT Murrey, Donnie Davis, Kirk Sampson and Josh Cheney.  Honorary pallbearers are Aubri Kemp, Aidan Murrey, Grant Cheney, Ryan Cheney, Hadley Cheney and Finley Cheney.
