Carolyn Joy Graham

Carolyn Joy Graham, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 19 in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

She was born Aug. 4, 1939 in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Gaetano Thomas Langione and Rosina Carmela (Catone) Langione. Upon graduating from high school, she attended nursing school, where she received her RN license. While working as a nurse in Dallas, Texas, she met W.D. "Dub" Graham. The two were married on June 14, 1963. The young couple moved to Commerce, Texas, where they had several successful businesses, and were well-known and highly respected in the community. After retirement, they moved to Paris, Texas, W.D.'s hometown.

Carolyn was a strong and courageous woman, a hero to many. Words used to describe her include lovely, intelligent, poised, generous, independent and with a terrific sense of humor. She was passionate about her convictions. True and compassionate, a lover of life and of people. She was a great mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, nurse, patient and more.

She is survived by daughter Karen Graham Moore, her husband Marcus, and their children Mackenzie and Macie; daughter Holly Graham Weatherford, her husband Pat, and their children Graham and Tori; and son Steven Graham, his wife D'Anna, and their children Adalyn and Luke.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Joan Clare.

A service celebrating the life of Carolyn Graham is scheduled for 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 9 at Calvary Methodist Church, 3105 Lamar Ave. Paris, Texas 75460.
