Carolyn Rogers, 79, of Campbell passed peacefully at home with her sister Donna by her side on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
She was born April 15, 1938, in Greenville, Texas, the daughter of Ben Murry Belew and Kathleen Annelle Blackburn Belew.
Ms. Rogers lived an active and eventful life which included her having attended Greenville High School, obtaining a Real Estate License, and being a Certified Court Reporter. She also was a business owner; having owned the "Glad Rags" boutique in Commerce and a Suzuki motorcycle shop in Dallas. One of her favorite career choices included her time spent as a waitress/bartender at the Sand Hills Country Club.
Some of her pastimes included playing golf, riding motorcycles, and growing miniature trees.
Her great sense of humor helped her to be considered a wonderful mother, big sister, and aunt to those who loved her.
She is survived by her father, Ben Belew, of New York, a son, Larry L. Bates Sr., a grandson, Larry L. Bates Jr., of Dallas, a granddaughter, Lisa M. Bates of Greenville, a great grandson, Caleb Gonzales, and a sister, Donna Ray of Campbell.
The family is planning a private committal service to be held at a later date and request that, in lieu of usual remembrances, you make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Carolyn.
