Charles "Chilie" Anderson passed away on May 3, 2009, just one month shy of his 85th birthday.
Chilie was born to Fred and Susie Anderson in Oak Cliff - Dallas on June 1, 1924. He had an older brother, Fred Jr., who died of hemophilia when Chilie was 5 years old.
Chilie lived in Dallas most of his life until he retired to his beloved farm in Commerce, Texas, in 1980. Chilie graduated from Adamson High School and SMU. He served in WWII on a PT boat. Chilie was a 32nd degree Mason; played in the Shriners Drum and Bugle Corp as a drummer; and, he was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church, Northwood Country Club and Bent Tree Country Club. He was a custom home builder in Dallas.
He is survived by his wife Trudy Anderson; a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Denise Anderson of Plano; daughters and son-in-laws, Lisa and Mike Treadaway of Dallas, Vicki and Steve Benton of Long Beach, CA; and a stepson and daughter-in-law, Randy and Ann Sitzman of Dallas.
He had six grandchildren - Amy, Clay, Lindsay, Lacey, Luke and Bryce. He also had four great-grandchildren.
Chilie had a long and blessed life and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
