David Alan Fields

David Alan Fields, 53, of Commerce, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, in Hopkins County, Texas.

David was born in Dallas on December 3, 1957, to Betty Hampton Plunkett, Later adopted by Noel Frances Fields and Morris Fields . He was a carpenter.

David loved fishing, playing golf, riding around and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved riding horses and going on trail rides. He was a good father, friend, brother, papa and loved his family very much.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Racie; his parents Noel Frances Fields and Morris Fields; his brother, Robert Plunkett; and, his sister Shari Bates.

Survivors include his mother Betty Plunkett, his son, Robert Weldon Fields; two daughters: Keisha Renae Edwards and Kayla Janee Fields; his brothers: Jim Jones, Bill Plunkett, and Steve Clyde; his sisters: Debbie Fishel, Joy Fields, Donna Bourisaw and Kimberley Blackwell; and, his grandchildren: Cazden Holton, Jesse Edwards, Kuren Holton, Taner Edwards, Brianna Holton and Payton Baker.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Horton, Bill Weatherford, Davis Jumper, Jerry Horton, Jerry Shortenacy, Ronny Belcher and James Johnson (Redman).

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Sands, Larry Dean, David Cotton , Robert Lawrence, Rev. Mannie Mitchell Sr. and Melvin James Pannell.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.

Graveside services will be conducted at High Noon in Oakridge Cemetery in Ladonia, TX, with Bro. Danny Fairweather officiating.
