Delene Moss Loftin

Doris Delene Moss Loftin, 92, of Pecan Gap, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by family.

Delene was born October 7, 1926 in Rattan, TX daughter of Delmar D. Moss and Audrey Wynn Moss. She married Jimmie Carl Loftin on November 20, 1945 in Pecan Gap. She was a housewife raising their 5 children. Delene later went to work as a janitor at East Texas State College in Commerce. Delene attended the Church of Christ.

Her favorite hobby was plants and flowers. She had an extraordinary green thumb. She loved being around kids and family and never met a stranger, especially if they would take time to listen to all of her stories.

Survivors include sons: Joe Loftin and Thomas Loftin of Pecan Gap; Mark Loftin and wife Paula of Wills Point, four grandchildren: David Loftin of Pecan Gap, Jimmy Loftin and Josh Loftin of Wills Point and Jodi Yates of Tyler; six great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ava, Jacob, Audrey, Adalynn and Peylee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie Loftin and sons: Ted Loftin and Steve Loftin.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Rattan Cemetery with Bro. Preston Boles officiating.
