Doney V. Kincaid, 92, formerly of Commerce, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Bedford, TX.
She was born on March 1, 1919, to Alexander and Josie Wren Clark in Brashear, TX. Doney married Hesker Harvel Kincaid on April 2, 1939, in Sulphur Springs. Hesker preceded her in death at the age of 76 in 1982.
Doney lived in Commerce for sixty years before moving to Sulphur Springs where she lived next-door to Chris and Desiree Childers for ten years. Desiree became more than a granddaughter-in-law and care-giver as she became as much of a granddaughter as Chris was her grandson.
She worked 13 years at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. She was an original employee when it opened. Upon leaving the nursing home, she worked at the Commerce Memorial Hospital until retirement some 20 years later. Doney volunteered at the Bargain Box as an Auxillary Member.
Doney was preceded in death by her 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Doney is survived by her three daughters: Lynn Sykes and husband Guy Sykes of Belton, Carolyn Thomas and husband Ray Thomas of Hurst, and Violet Jean (Jeanie) Morris and husband Rick Morris of Mesquite; a brother, J. D. Clark; two sister-in-laws;15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and, 11 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce. Interment will follow in Pearless Cemetery.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jon and Stephen Nichols, Severin Sampson, Wayne and Bruce Thomas, Chris Childers, and Matt Morris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Henry, Rodney, Kenneth Keller, Ben Briscoe and Jerry Bradshaw.
