Dorothy Jean Newberry

Dorothy Jean Newberry, 95, of Commerce, passed away Tuesday evening, December 24, 2019 at Oak Manor Nursing Home.

Jean was born in Floydada, TX on April 3, 1924 to Willie Dee Henry and W.C. Sims. She married Harvey Lee Newberry on February 23, 1941 in Lockney, TX.

Jean was a devoted wife and mother, staying home to raise children.

She is survived by her daughter; Tammy Jean Jeter and husband BJ Edwards; sons: Phillip Lee Newberry and wife Elevlyn and Donald Dean Newberry and wife Dana; daughter-in-law Vickie Newberry, grandchildren: Angie Flippin, James Newberry and wife Edie, Stuart Newberry and wife Dana, Travis Newberry and wife Kristin, Leanne Irvine and Jenna Koestner and husband Bryan, Margo Sigl and husband Brian, Mandy Clayton and husband Warren, Brandi Ward and husband Chris; great grandchildren: Zachary, Lance, Tara, Kirby, Karli, Kendall, Regan, Chase, Blake, Cameron, Morgan, Sutton, Sawyer, Taylor, Chayden, Emily,Rhen, Cassidy, and Brycen.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Daniel Allen Newberry and Delbert Brice Newberry; brother J.M Sims and sister Ina Maud Hammonds.

Service will be Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Larry Morris and Bro. Samuel Glenn officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Pallbearers will be Travis, BJ, Lance, Zach, Mark and James.
