Douglas Edward Dickerson

Douglas Edward Dickerson, 68, of Cooper passed away at his residence on November 13, 2020. He was born in the Spring Hill community of Douglassville, Texas on December 28, 1951, the son of Sandy Dickerson, Sr. and Vinnie Haire Dickerson. He worked at the Red River Army Depot in Texarkana for many years. Douglas enjoyed playing chess and dominoes to pass the time. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Douglas is survived by his sister, Barbara N. Fields of Commerce and brother-in-law and sister Lugene and Martha Flo of Wylie, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Florine Luckey  and five brothers: Ernest Dickerson, Sandy Dickerson, Jr., Lonnie Charles Dickerson, L.H. Dickerson, and Emmitt Dickerson. A half-sister, Alice Fay also preceded him in death.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday November 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Douglassville, Tx. with Evangelist Barbara Brown officiating, and Hazel Daniels as special speaker.
