Dr. Carroll Adams, 82, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, in Greenville.
William Carroll was born on July 15, 1930, in Star City, Arkansas, to Allie L. and Ila Miles Adams. He proudly served in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict and was in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps in research and development.
He attended Lake Village Public Schools and graduated in 1948. William Carroll received his BA in 1951 at Arkansas State Teachers College (now University of Central Arkansas.) and received his MA in 1953. Continuing his education, he received his Ph.D in 1963 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas..
In 1960 Dr. Adams joined faculty at East Texas State College (now Texas A & M University - Commerce). He taught full time for 35 years and was named Professor Emeritus in 1998.
Dr. Adams is survived by his sister, Margaret Adams Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Dr. William Carroll Adams is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arvel T. Adams; his three sisters: Reba Adams Mitchell, Mildred Adams Moseleyand Allie Adams Salem, and, his sister-in-law, Carolyn Craddock Adams.
