Edward Benson, 75, of Commerce passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Plano.
Edward was born in Harleton TX. on April 10, 1937, to Edgar Benson and Maudie Page Benson. He was a retired mechanic from the original Benson Brothers Wrecker Service. Edward loved gardening, fishing, singing and playing his guitar .
He was with his beautiful bride, Brenda Daniel Benson, for 48 years.
Survivors include his wife; his son; Jeff Benson and wife Mary, his two daughters; Charlotte Bentle and husband James, and, Jessie Benson, his seven grandchildren; Whitney Thornton, Brittney Benson, "Lil"James Bentle, Tyler Benson, Ethan Benson, Jessica Bentle, and Brittany Bentle, his three great-grandchildren; Skylar Clayton, Brenden Clayton, and Katelynn Thornton, his three brothers; Albert Benson, Bill Benson and wife Juanita, and Finis Benson and wife Karen, and his sister Hazel Sepulva, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his four brothers, Thomas, Hugh, Sam, Elven, and one baby sister.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bill Mills officiating.
Interment will follow at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell.
Pallbearers will be: John Riffle, Mingo Garza, Steve Duke, David Ketner, Victor Harrison, Michael Garza, Ted Flugmacher, and Jeff White.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Skipper Creed and Joe Ketner.
