Funeral Mass for Emeteria Gonzalez Vda. de Alvarez age, 91 of Sulphur Bluff will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Sayf William Bowlin officiating. Burial will follow at the North Hopkins Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Gonzalez died at 6: 37 PM Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 3, 1921 in Leon, GTO. Mexico the daughter of Asuncion and Apolinar Monjaraz Gonzalez. She married Antonio Alvarez on May 19, 1939 and he preceded her in death on December 18, 1989.

Mrs. Gonzalez was a homemaker and a member of St. James Parish.

She is survived by her sons; Alejo Alvarez of Sulphur Springs, Jose Guadalupe Alvarez of Sulphur Springs, Fidel Alvarez of Encinal, Jesus Alvarez of Leon, GTO, and Cruz Alvarez of Sulphur Bluff; daughters Lourdes Contreras of Sulphur Springs, Dionicia Duran of Birthright, Carmen Alvarez de Ramirez of Leon, GTO, Reyna Dias of Sulphur Bluff. Fifty-eight Grandchildren; One-hundred and twenty-three Great Grandchildren; Seventeen Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters and three great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oscar Aguilar and Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
