Ethel Norene DeFino, Born on July 29, 1930, was welcomed into Heaven on June 11, 2015. She will forever be remembered by her devoted daughter Patricia Tittle, beloved grandchildren; Steve Tittle, Suzie and Shaun Robinson, adoring great grandchildren; Keaton and Dillon, bonus granddaughter Salena, along with countless friends, nieces and nephews whom were blessed to know her. Ethel was also survived by her sister Ann Barter, brother Ernest Jenkins and in-laws Mickey Jenkins Mackey, Judy Jenkins and Ray Barter.
Ethel was the middle child of nine children born to the late Oscar and Jessie Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony DeFino, her daughter, Teresa Gayle McKinney, sisters Lottie, Iretta and Clara, and brothers Alec, Jimmy and William.
Although born in Venus, Texas, she lived her childhood years in Gurley, Alabama, and moved to Texas after graduating from high school. McKinney, Texas was her home for the last 13 years.
Ethel enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and bragging about her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved going to the lake for a fish fry with her family. And, she enjoyed worshipping with the faith communities of the Covenant Church and The Oaks Baptist Church.
Ethel touched the lives of many people with her smile and maintained a positive spirit through her health challenges. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at The Grand Texan Clubhouse, 2491 Country View Lane, McKinney, TX 75069. In lieu of flowers, donations, in her name, are welcome, to The Oaks Baptist Church at 970 South Highway 5, McKinney, TX 75069 and Covenant Church at 975 S. Central Expressway, McKinney 75070.
