Fedel P. Sanders (Phil), 84, of Pecan Gap passed away at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville on Friday, March 17, 2023. He was born on March 30, 1938 in Shorter, Alabama to Vergil Stovall and Millie Ann Sanders Chappell. Phil drove trucks for over 47 years before retiring from Pro Transportation of Little Rock, AR. He met and married Dorothy Ferguson.
Phil was a proud member of St. James Baptist Church in Honey Grove. He was very happy to become one of the deacons. It meant a lot to him to help do maintenance to the church. He loved driving semi trucks traveling all around the United States. Phil was a very loving person of God's mankind. He always was first if there was an accident, even if he might get hurt himself. If a family needed gas or food to get down the road Phil would provide.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Dorothy of Pecan Gap, daughters: Michelle Sanders of Detroit, MI, Barbara Barnes and husband Willie of Montgomery, AL, Ingrid Sanders of Boston, Mass and Iola Sanders of Florida; sister Daisey Floyd and husband McKinley of Shorter, AL; brothers: Willie Chappell of Shorter, AL and Jimmy Sanders of Boston, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sons: Tony Sanders and Gordon Sanders.
