Forrest Olen Robinson, 83, of Commerce passed away at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville on May 25, 2010.
Forrest was born on May 15, 1927 to J. L. and Vera Markham Robinson in the Horton Community. He enlisted into the Air Force in 1946, married Bertha Tolly on November 15, 1974, retired from E-Systems (L-3) as a mechanic in 1989, and was also known through Robinson's Welding & Lawn Mower Shop, Farmers COOP Gin in Cooper, and Peek & Robinson Gin of Commerce, and a member of the Horton Baptist Church.
"Paw Paw" Forrest Robinson loved to garden, work on lawn mowers and weed eaters, and could fix anything, he will be truly missed by all, but we know he is now with the Lord.
Forrest is survived by his loving wife, Bertha of Commerce; his children: Donna Hines and husband Charlie of Commerce, Kelsie Robinson of Yantis, Henry Hill and wife, Billie of Brashear, and Rita Greer and husband, Mark of Greenville; his sisters: Lee Kennedy and husband Bill of FL, Pat Carter and husband, Joe of Greenville, and Oleta of OR; his grandchildren: Charlie Hill and wife, Racheal of Brashear, Susan Mooney and husband, John of Sulphur Springs, Dusty Hines of LA, Amberly Greer of Greenville, Corey Hines of Commerce, Jennifer McCoy of Sulphur Springs, and Jason Wicks of Miss; his great-grandchildren Sydnee Hawkins, Jentree Mooney, a new grandbaby due in December, Brianna, Alexus, and Mac all of Sulphur Springs.
He is preceded in death by two brothers: Kelsie Robinson and Oscar Robinson, a sister Tessie Jewelle Ruby, and a grandchild, Donna Renee Robinson.
Funeral services will be conducted at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie on Friday, May 28, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., Bro. Jeff Bishop officiating.
Burial - with military honors - will follow at Horton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010.
Pallbearers are Tuesday Night Card Players: Junior Eudy, Tommy McDaniels, Harold Peterson, Keith Barrett, Chris Pope, and Russell Shelter.
Honorary Pallbearers are John Paul Rhodes, Butch Elmore, Clint Norman, Randy Manning, Jim Rhodes, Buddy Jones, Harold Moore, and Johnnie Moore.
