Geneva Starkes Cooksey, 92, of Klondike, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at her residence.
She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse who had retired from Wadley Hospital in Texarkana and was a member of the Church of Christ in Commerce.
Geneva was born on January 1, 1920, in Red Springs, TX, to Julia Taylor Frerichs and George Hartman Frerichs.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Joe Starkes and Woodrow Cooksey; her parents; and her brothers: Junior, Gene and Bill Frerichs.
Survivors include her daughter, Freida Teel; her grandchildren: Chelly Green Dixon and husband Dallas and Tiffany Green Woolbright; her great grandchildren: Colby Hudnall, Micayla Hudnall, Jamee Brown, Henley Woolbright, Kirby Dixon and Dakota Dixon; her sister-in-laws: Billye Frerichs and Mattie Lou Frerichs; her daughter-in-law, Rita Cooksey; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Church of Christ in Commerce on Monday, May 14, 2012, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Church of Christ in Commerce.
Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Redwater Cemetery, Redwater, TX.
