George Weldon Gibson

George Weldon Gibson, 65, of Commerce passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012, in Bonham.

He was a U. S. Army veteran and a heavy vehicle mechanic who loved hiking and bike riding. He was a loved uncle, father, friend and brother to others.

George was born in Commerce on January 3, 1947, to Laura Alice Myers and Wade Thomas Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bobbie Ruth Jones.

Survivors include his son, Patrick Gibson; his daughter Shandrika Gibson; his brothers: William Gibson and Larry Gibson of Commerce and Lewis James (L.J.) Gibson of Muleshoe / Snyder; and, his sisters: Mary Frances of Mississippi, Martha Sue Woodruff of Grant, OK, and Patricia George of Pleasant Grove; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
