George Ray McFarland

George Ray McFarland, 86, of Commerce passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Commerce.

George was born in Delta County, Texas, on March 17, 1931, the son of A.E. McFarland and Evelyn Raye Overstreet McFarland. George grew up in the Yowell Community, he graduated from Commerce High School. After graduation George moved to Dallas and went to work for Lone Star Gas Company. George married Marjorie Yeager from Pecan Gap. They were married for 27 years before she passed away in 1979. George and Priscilla Bradley were married in 1980.

George is survived by his wife, Priscilla, step-son Eric Bradley, step-daughter, Kristi Shafer, his step-grandchildren: Gabrielle Cruz, Vera Cosby, Benjamin Bradley and Katherine Bradley, his step-great-grandchildren: Emma Cruz, Joshua Garces and Zoey Cosby.

Preceding him in death were his parents A.E and Evelyn Raye McFarland.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church of Commerce with Dr. Greg Neal officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Pallbearers will be Eric Bradley, Mike Anderson, Gary Anderson, Gene Lockhart, Mark Sartwell and Danny Humphries.

Honorary pallbearers will be his Coffee Drinking Friends, Danny O'Neal, Benny Housewright, Bob Johnson, Herbert Creamer, L.R. Moore, Lynn Langford, Jerry Lytle and Bill Spitler.

Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

Interment service follows church service.
