Hazel McFail, 94, of Honey Grove entered into heavenly rest on Tuesday evening August 27, 2024 in Honey Grove surrounded by her precious loved ones at the Honey Grove Nursing Center. She was born on January 2, 1930 in New Boston, TX to Isaac Johnson and Eva Mae Carlson Johnson. She met and later married Jones McFail on September 5, 1949. Hazel was member of St. James Baptist Church in Honey Grove. She worked at Bonham Manufacturing for over 30 years and quilted for many.
She is survived by her daughters: Della Fleming, Nellie Brown (John), Janice Burks and Bridget McFail; sons: David McFail, Johnny McFail (Dell), and Benny McFail (Dinita); her only living sibling Otis Johnson and wife Doris of Wichita Falls; grandchildren: Braudrick, Darius, Dakoda, Trevor, Tamera, Dominique, BenDarius, Roger Bizzle and Nigel Nichole "Nikki," She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, adopted through love grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jones McFail, grandsons: Kevin Burks, Rodney McFail and Cedric McFail; great grandson Justin McFail; sisters: Lillian, Dorothy and Joyce; brothers: Billy Ray, Bobby Lee, Isaac and LM. She was also preceded by her son-in-law Billy Fleming.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Gaffney officiating and Rev. Darrel Franklin Sr. as eulogist. Burial will follow at St. Mark Cemetery in Dodd City.
Pallbearers are Roger Bizzle, Braudrick Reynolds, Darius McFail, Dakoda McFail, BenDarius McFail and Kenneth Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Young, Neal Burks, Hollis Wayne, Stanley Johnson, Chris Harmon and Bobby Clark.
