Horace L. Pannell, 88, of Commerce, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014, in Commerce.
Horace was born in East Caney, on April 16, 1925, to Rosevelt and Verter Pannell.
He was retired from the original Bickham Florist in Commerce.
Horace's philosophy was: family stick together, continue to love each other and be there for each other.
Survivors include his two sons: Bobby Joe Pannell of Moline, IL, and Perry Charles Pannell of Commerce; his four daughters: Rosie Woods of McKinney, Versell Savage of Commerce, Jackie Spencer of McKinney and Barbara Crosby of Commerce: his grandchildren: Craig Lewis, John Woods Jr., Bobby Pannell Jr., Chaka and Connie Pannell, Erica and William Spencer, Brad, Jason, James and Latonia Caldwell; his fifteen great-grandchildren; and, his sisters: Rosetta Leary, Gladys Adair, Maxcine Wilson and Earnstine Drennon.
Horace was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Ruth Pannell; his grandson, Brad; his brothers: Lawrence Ray, James Pannell, and, Eddie Pannell; his sisters: Princella Johnson and Reba Parker; and, his parents Rosevelt and Verter Pannell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Commerce.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and his great-grandsons.
Interment will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
