Inocencio Ortega Torres

Celebration of Mass for Inocencio Ortega Torres, 76, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Eduardo Lazaro officiating.

Burial will follow in Panteon San Marcos, en El Aguacate, Rio Verde, SLP, Mexico.

Visitation will be held from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, with the Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. at Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home in Commerce.

Mr. Torres died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

He was born in Rio Verde, SLP, México, on Dec, 28, 1932, the son of Victoriano and Irinea Ortega Torres.

He married Susana Don Torres on May 19, 1952, in El Aguacate, SLP, Mexico. She survives.

Mr. Torres was a farmer and a member of St. James Catholic Church.

He is also survived by his five sons, Cleofus Torres of Monclova, México, and Simon, Vicente, Fernando and Jose Erasmo Torres, all of Sulphur Springs; six daughters, Isidra Torres of Monclova, México, Francisca, Buenaventura and Elosia Torres, all of Sulphur Springs, Andrea Torres of Toluca, Mexico, and Maura Torres of Rio Verde, SLP, Mexico; 56 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Pascaul Torres of Veracruz, México.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Maria Inez Torres; two infant children; five brothers; and two sisters.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
