J. W. Daniels Sr., 70, of Honey Grove, died Sunday, April, 14, 2013, in Paris.
Mr. Daniels was born in Mineola on July 19, 1942, to Mary Vaughn and David Daniels. On September 17, 1962, he married Ruby Mae Finney in Honey Grove. He was a machinist.
Survivors include his wife; his sons: J. W. (Melanie) Daniels, Jr., of Honey Grove and Claude (Lisa) Finney of Roxton; his four daughters: Christine Daniels of Paris, Beverly (Charles) Hayes of Honey Grove, Theresa (Willie) Shaw of Honey Grove and Valirie (Willie) Lewis of Dallas; his brothers: Clavon (Brenda) Daniels of Red Oak and Fredrick (Evelyn) Daniels of Dallas; his sisters: Bobbie Collins of Los Angeles, CA, and Cordie Kirkum of Dallas; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Dan Smith, David Daniels, James Daniels and Joseph Daniels; and, his sister, Dorothy Daniels.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 12:00 Noon at Christian Chapel CME in Honey Grove with Rev. Esther Lawson officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Honey Grove.
Pallbearers will be Terry McCarty, Kim Finney, Luther Jones, David Singleton, Bobbie Jones and Robert Finney.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. W. Daniels, Jr., Claude Finney, Marcus Denson, Anthony Daniels, Kerwin Hayes, Jr, Dennis Finney, Willie Lamont Lewis, Willie Dee Lewis, Jr, and Shannon Finney.
