Jack Stanley Whittle, 68, of Sulphur Springs passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, in Greenville.
Jack was born on July 15, 1944, in Royse City to Verniece Horton and James Henry Whittle. He attended Sulphur Springs High School and was a U. S. Army veteran. Jack married Diana Petty on November 15, 1965, in Antlers, OK. He attended Country Baptist Church and was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and, his brothers: Randall Whittle and Robert Dale Whittle.
Survivors include his wife of Sulphur Springs; his brother, Roy Gene Whittle of Sulphur Springs; his sister, Denise Rogers of Schulenberg; his daughters: Rhonda Douglas of Sulphur Springs and Tammy Ely of Emory; four grandchildren: Cody Douglas, Cassidy Douglas, Logan Ely and Lyle Ely; and, his great-grandson, Caden Steve Douglas.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by commital services at 11:30 a.m. in the Brashear Community Center on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Military honors will be provided by Hopkins County Military Coalition. Rev. Larry Baxley and Doug McCool will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Cody Douglas, Cassidy Douglas, Logan Ely, Lyle Ely, Don Aulsbrook and Charles Brannon.
