James Lee Cole was born into eternal life on Thursday, June 25th. James came into this world at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas on January 15th, 1954. He was a 1972 graduate of Commerce High School and attended East Texas State University.
James and his father, Harold Cole, opened Cole Chrysler Motor Company in 1980 in Commerce. James continued in car sales with Jackson Auto Group and was most recently employed as fleet manager by Commerce Auto Group. James had recently fulfilled his midlife crisis by owning a sleek, new black Corvette, which he loved driving around Commerce. His other passion in life was music, and he was the bass player for All Fingers Band, which recently reunited after over 20 years. James was an avid Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy fan, but his biggest joy in life was spending time with his #1 fan, his loving wife of 31 years, Pam.
James and his family were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Commerce. He participated in numerous youth mission trips, loved attending Vacation Bible School, and served as the head cook with Mozelle MacFadden.
James is survived by his wife, Pam Cole. James was preceded in death by his father, Harold Virgil Cole, but is survived by his mother, Elva Clarice Ritchie Cole, of Henderson, Texas. The other loves of his life were his sisters Vicki Hicks and husband, Jim, of Frisco, Texas and Shirley Moody and husband, Greg, of Henderson, Texas. James was also dearly loved by his mother-in-law, Helen Foytik, of Grand Prairie, Texas; his sister-in-law, Pat Scott, of Frisco, Texas; his brother-in-law, Ben Foytik and wife, Lore, of Celina, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Whitney Hicks, Wesley Hicks, Cole Moody, Cyndee Moody, Crystal Moody, Kim Seale, Kyle Scott, Allie Watkins, Sammie Watkins, Rachel Stephenson, and Ragan Stephenson along with four great nieces and nephews, Kayla, Kyla, Jared, and Brodie. James was also privileged to be a godparent to Sam Owens, Landon Owens, and Amber Owens.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barney, Ben Foytik, Jim Hicks, Wesley Hicks, Greg Moody, Cole Moody, Sam Owens, and Landon Owens.
Visitation will be held at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce from 6-8 pm on Sunday, June 28.
