Jane Evelyn Lenington

Jane Evelyn Lenington, 82, passed away at her home in Campbell, on November 3, 2013.

Jane was born In Texarkana, AR, on December 27, 1930, to John Greenwood and Evelyn Hunter Greenwood. Jane graduated from high school in Texarkana, earned a BS in Nutrition from Iowa State and a MA from SMU in Dallas. She married Albert O. Lenington, "Big Al", in 1959 and they raised two boys in Dallas. Jane worked in Food Services at Dallas ISD for over 25 years and was the assistant to the Director when she retired. She was the family marriach and loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. She was very active in the Little River Ladies Association and split her time after retiring between Dallas and the cabin she loved on Little River in Arkansas. Jane was a terrific cook-nothing fancy, just delicious. She was very creative and well known for her hand sewn custom dolls -especially the elaborate Santa Claus. She enjoyed doing needlepoint her entire life, an art she learned from her Aunt Mary Belle, who also took her to Little River the first time. Jane and her grandson, Hunter, had a special bond as they adored each other and were shopping fools. She also enjoyed listening to him play his drums and practicing with his band in the garage.

Survivors include her two sons; John H. Lenington and his wife Barbara, of Campbell and James E. Lenington and his wife Kathy, of Dallas; her very precious grandson, Hunter Lenington, of Campbell; and, her sister, Carol Trigg, of Texarkana, AR

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Lenington ("Big Al"); her sister, Anne Woodman; and, her brother, Sonny Greenwood.
