Janet McPherson

  Janet Lynn McPherson, 65 of Commerce, TX gained her wings on Wednesday May 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Janet was born June 25, 1958 in Ft. Worth, TX to Talmadge Earl Tidwell and Mary Evelynn Stewart Tidwell of Roanoke, TX.  She graduated from Northwest High School in 1976.  On July 18, 1975, she married the love of her life Gary Bruce McPherson, and they lived a wonderful life together for just short of 49 years.  Janet was the mother of seven sons and devoted many years to being home on the Dairy raising her boys and being Gary's right hand.  She also gave many years to assist in the Special Education classrooms for the local school and later became manager of Lone Star Eatery where she retired.  Janet loved her family above all things and spent as much time as possible making memories with them on the lake, family vacations, at the ball fields and around the kitchen table.

Janet is survived by her husband Gary, sons Kelley and wife Melissa of Winnsboro, Brian and wife Stephanie of Blue Ridge, Stuart and wife Tiffany of Commerce, Jeffrey and wife Paige of Greenville, Justin and wife Marigny of Caddo Mills, Colby and wife Lauren of Commerce, and Jacob and wife Myka; 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Larry Tidwell and wife Judy of Roanoke, sisters, Debbie Thomas of South Lake, Connie Krieg and husband John of Haslet, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.  Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 6, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Commerce officiated by Pastor Terry Holley.  Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery
