Jerry Dalton Potter, of Klondike, Tx. passed away at his home on the evening of November 14, 2019, at the age of 80 years old. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing.
Jerry was born June 9, 1939, in Florien, Louisiana, the son of William Joseph Potter and Mentie Davis Potter. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army from May 1958 until June 1961, obtaining the rank of E-4 before being honorably discharged. He married Dorothy Wiseman on December 30, 1988 and she preceded him in death in 2016. He was a retired pipefitter for AT&T and also worked as a plumber for a time. He was also known as a devoted tinkerer and was always fixing things that needed fixing. Jerry will be remembered as a kindhearted man that was always there for you if you needed him. He was a member of the Prospect Methodist Church in Florien, La. and also a member of the Pioneers and the VFW.
Jerry is survived by three sons: William Edwin Potter, David Andrew Potter and Daniel Albert Wiseman; two daughters: Katherine Heidi Clough and Catherine Anne Wiseman-Boyd. He is also survived by four granddaughters: Jessica Marie Potter, Crystal Erni Potter, Michele Lynn Briseno and Reagan Katherine Clough; four grandsons: Robert Adams Clough, Connor Max Dawson, Phillip David Riley, and Matthew Albert Nesom, and two great grandchildren: Ava Lynn Mitchell and Alan Michael Briseno. He is also survived by his first wife, Evelyn Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy of 28 years, a brother, Wallace Potter and four sisters: Agnes, Dorothy, Nella Faye and Mary.
Funeral services for Mr. Potter will be held at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Many, Louisiana on Friday November 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation being on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. Viewing will also be on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at the Prospect Cemetery in Florien. Pastor DeeAnn Harris Johnson will officiate.
Those serving as pallbearers will be: Justin Boyd, Phillip David Riley, Alan Briseno, Robert Adams Clough III, Robert Adams Clough IV, and Richard Dekeyzer.
