Jessie Mae McKenzie

Jessie Mae McKenzie, 73, of Commerce passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012, at her home in Commerce.

She was born on September 9, 1938, in Stamps, AR, to Octavia Jester Phillips and Robert B. Phillips.

Coming from Arkansas to Texas in 1969, she moved from Dallas to Commerce in 1989. Jessie was a bookkeeper/accountant.

She married Gene McKenzie in McKinney, TX, on March 2, 1974.

Survivors include her sons: Robert Davison (Kelly) of Taylor, AR, and Wayne Hilliard (Marce) of Whitehouse, TX; her daughter, Nita McCrary (Larry) of Dallas; her four sisters: Edna Bland of Jacksonville, AR, Addis Wallies of Jacksonville, AR, Edith (Mo) Bosiecki of Jacksonville, AR, and Gladys Oats of Texarkana, AR; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.

Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Bobby Phillips.

Memorial services will be held Saturday April 28, 2012 @ 10:00 a.m at Mars-Hill Baptist Church, Hwy 53, Stamps, AR.
