Jimmie Nabers Johnson

Jimmie "MauMau" Nabers-Johnson, of Sulphur Springs, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 4th, 2022 at her residence at Wesley House Assisted Living Center in Sulphur Springs, Texas.  In her final weeks she was cared for by her Granddaughter, Shawna Scott of Conway South Carolina, who, along with her daughter, Jean Ann Scott of Cooper, Texas were with her at the time of her passing.  

Jimmie was born in Muleshoe, Texas on July 22, 1927 to parents B. H. "Pop" & Willie "Mom" Moore, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her Sister, Jean Housewright, and Brother Bob Moore.  Jimmie is also preceded in death by her husbands J. L. Nabers, and Willard Johnson.

Jimmie is survived by her Sister Pat Brewer, her children, Jack & Johnny Nabers, and Jean Ann Scott, her grandchildren, Shawna, Justin, Tony and Ben, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren with a 4^th on the way, and several nieces and nephews along with their families.  The family would like to include the daughters of her dear friend Barbara Dunavin; Linda Gulley, Rhoda Cherney, Lori Ray, & Donald Dunavin of for taking "MauMau" into their family after Barbara's passing.  They have been a blessing to Jimmie and the family for these past few years.  Along with her family she will be missed by the wonderful staff and residents of Wesley House.

Jimmie's life was long and filled with the love and laughter of her friends and family. She will be truly missed.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones-Walker Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service at 10:00 a.m.  A private interment will follow the service at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
