Jimmie Ray Ware Sr. 78, of Commerce passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
Jimmie was born in Mission, Texas, on June 10, 1936, to Ida Belle Angermiller Ware and Beal Ray Ware. Jimmie served in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion in Bonham and was a retired rancher. Jimmie was married to Karen Kennedy Ware.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; his children: Karen Gaddy of Cumby, Jimmie Ware Jr. (Cindy) of Greenville, Michelle Strickland (Barry) of Clifton, TX., Sharon Stailey (Duane) of Cumby, Pam Ferris (Darrell) of Lindale, Kristie McSparrin of Lindale and Phillip Kennedy (Kimberley) of Commerce; his twenty grandchildren; his 28 great-grandchildren; and, his sister, Mary Alice Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Faye Ware, and his parents Ida Belle and Beal Ray Ware.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Pastor Oliver Mowat officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tony Jacobs, Marcus Jacobs, Phillip Kennedy, Michael Strickland, Jamie Strickland, Michael Ray Tucker and David Hebert.
Interment with full Military Honors will follow at New Harmony Cemetery in Ladonia.
