Johnnie Hale Robertson passed away on April 14, 2015, at the age of 94. She was born in Hunt County in the Shady Grove Community. Her parents were Gilbert Spencer Hale, Sr. and Mae Walker Hale. She was a middle child with an older sister, Mellie Hale Dawson and younger brother, Gilbert Spencer Hale, Jr. She graduated from Campbell High School and worked at various jobs, co-owned several businesses, and found her true calling as a church secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Commerce. She retired after 25 years of dedicated service to this faith community.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister. She is survived by her son, David (Virginia) Kirk, of Rowlett; grandsons: Tony (Darcy) Kirk and family of Itasca, Patrick Kirk of Rowlett, Michael-Paul Kirk of Rowlett and Spencer Kirk and family of Stephenville; niece, Jannie (Bill) Husbands and family of Commerce; nephews: Roy (Linda) Dawson and family of Campbell, Dennis (Linda) Dawson and family of Campbell; and, extended family, Ann (Roy) Smally and family of Campbell and Jan (John) Denny and family of Campbell.
Johnnie was blessed with a soul full of love, which she willingly shared with everyone she met. A friend to her was family and required her love and caring. She lived her life based on the lessons she learned from her parents and her faith. She never understood how many souls she touched with her love and caring nature, maybe that was her greatest legacy. She shared her love without any thoughts of reward.
