Karen Sue Nichols Alvarez

Karen Sue Nichols Alvarez, 61, of Commerce passed away on Sunday afternoon November 19, 2023 in Richardson.  She was born in Tittisville, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1962 to Fredrick Ernest Nichols and Leona Reynolds.  

Karen enjoyed going to church, spending time with her friends playing slot machines, doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren.  She also loved fishing, singing and dancing.  She loved all her friends and family and even people she didn't know.  Karen was very kind and friendly but most of all she loved Jesus and always shared his word.

Karen is survived by her daughters: Patricia Alvarez of Mexico, Melissa Rincon of Greenville and Judy Alvarez of Campbell; grandchildren: Ana, Luis, Veronica, Mariana, Maria, Ernesto, Araceli, Naomi, Ezequiel, Manuel, Leticia, Rosa, Ofelia and Raul; great grandchildren: Yuliana and Itzel.  She is also survived by her sisters: Linda and husband Jose of Ft. Worth, Teresa and husband Raymond of Joshua and Mary Harrison of Cumby; 3 brothers: Ernest, Charles and wife Janie of Ft. Worth and Jason and wife Kathryn of Joshua.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gayle Lynn, brothers Robert and William, son-in-law Ernesto Rincon and brother-in-law Timothy Harrison.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Jones-Walker & Son Chapel.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. and burial will take place at Liberty Cemetery in Greenville, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Luis Alvarez, Ernesto Rincon, Andrew Dysart, Alan Espinoza, Brus Sanchez and Maria Bautista.  Honorary pallbearers are Gregorio Martinez and Marcelino.
