Larry Duane Walker

Beloved precious husband, father, and grandfather, Larry Duane Walker of Greenville, TX, passed from this life to be with his glorious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 24, 2014.

Larry was born December 4, 1940, in Sallisaw, OK, to William Clyde Walker and Opal Clounch Walker. He married Vivian Gail Edlin on November 25, 1969.

Larry served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.

He retired as a social worker with the State of Texas in 2003. After retiring, he became involved full time with a prison and jail ministry. He was a great teacher/preacher; and, with wife, Gail, traveled throughout the U.S. going into jails and prisons giving their testimony and sharing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. When he passed into Heaven on Friday, January 24, he heard, "Well done my good and faithful servant."

He is survived by his wife, Gail, of 44 years; his son, Chris Rose and wife, Margie of Greenville, TX; his granddaughter, Amy Wood and husband, Noah, of Sachse, TX; his granddaughter, Shannon Rose of Fate, TX; his grandson; Jacob Ray of Terrell TX; his mother-in-law, Cleo Edlin of Ladonia, TX; his sister, Linda Hill of Grand Prairie, TX; and, his nieces: Shelly Fugitt of Malokoff, TX, and Alicia Arning of Grand Prairie, TX.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Opal Walker.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
