Linda Cheryl Threlkeld Baron

Linda Threlkeld Baron, 67, of Commerce passed away early Thursday morning April 21, 2022 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Linda was born in Commerce, Tx. on March 1, 1955, the daughter of L.C. Threkeld and Edwina Davis Threkeld. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, class of 1973 and a member of First United Methodist Church. Linda married Wayne (Dick) Baron on January 4, 1974, in Commerce, a journey that covered 48 years, leaving many fond memories along the way. She retired from Texas A&M University where she served in the capacity of a payroll specialist. 

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband, Dick, daughters: Shelly Oats and husband Chad of Campbell, Tx., and Lori Smith of Commerce. Other survivors include her grandchildren: Cameron, Cason, and Carrigan Oats of Campbell, Tx. and Taylor and Morgan Smith of Commerce. Linda is also survived by her sisters: Sharron Swinson and husband James, Carin Peggram and husband Danny and sister-in-law Sandra Elmore.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Vistitation will be held Saturday April 23, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service following at 11:00 A.M. at Jones-Walker & Son Chapel with Bro. Shane Oats officiating. Burial will follow at Sonora Cemetery; Cameron Oats, Cason Oats, Shawn Elmore, Casey Elmore, Ronny Wall, and David Jones will serve as pallbearers.
