Lola Bledsoe

Lola Bledsoe, 102, of Sulphur Springs passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Commerce.

Lola was born in Ridgeway, Texas, on December 15, 1910, to Ira Shields and Dovie Lou Radican Shields. In January 1929, she married Robert Averal Bledsoe.

She served as secretary of Oakland Presbyterian Church for many years. Lola enjoyed quilting and sewing; and, she was a wonderful cook.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Bledsoe of Sulphur Springs; her daughter, Glenna Robinson of Sulphur Springs; eight grandchildren; twenty great- grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; and, one great- great- great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Homer Shields; and, her sister, Mae Ola Stewart.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Lee Dittmar officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services.

Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery in Ridgeway, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Bledsoe, Chris Baxter, Keith Robinson, Dean Mobley, Barry Law and Darel Roach.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Robinson, Jim Ward and Spencer Hinkle.
