Lonnie Ray Anderson

Lonnie Ray Anderson, 71, of Cumby, Texas passed away at his residence in Cumby on February 22, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1953, at his home in the Shiloh Community of Delta County, Texas. Lonnie's parents were George Ray Levi Anderson and Bertha Mae Corcoran Anderson.

Lonnie retired from the City of Cumby where he worked as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. He was an avid "true blue" Dallas Cowboy Fan and enjoyed gardening, fishing (when his health allowed it)  and keeping all the stray cats fed, and any other hungry animal that might come his way.

He is survived by his two sons: Andrew Anderson of Kenefic, Oklahoma and Brian Anderson of Durant, Oklahoma. He was also very proud of his grandson, Johnny Ray Anderson, who will be responsible for keeping the Anderson name going. Other survivors include two sisters: Alice and Maxine.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Jewell, Rachel, and Mary, and two brothers: George and Roy.

A  graveside service for Mr. Anderson will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cumby City Cemetery.
