Louise Rivers, 89, passed away on December 19, 2009 in College Station.
Mrs. Rivers was a graduate of Texas Woman's University and was associated with Texas A& M University for 29 years.
One of the highlights of her career was spending two years in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) as administrative assistant to a group of Texas A & M professors who were conducting research there.
A member of First Baptist Church of College Station, she was active in the Women's Missionary Union, her Sunday School class, and the Discovery program for International women and children.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest D. Rivers, a son, Hugh Glenn, of New York City, two stepÂdaughters, Cherry Ann Todd of Meridian, Ms., and Sandra and James Weeks of Commerce, Tx. Her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Bill Mahanay and niece, Louise Cates, live in San Antonio.
Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, December 22nd at First Baptist Church, College Station, and a memorial service will begin at 1 :30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, College Station, or Texas Baptist Children's Home, 1301 North Mays Street, Round Rock, Texas 78664.
