Mack Rickard, 93, of the Horton Community, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011, in Wolfe City, Texas.
Mack was a plumber and a former prisoner of war during his service in the U. S. Army during WW II.
He loved hunting and fishing and always made funny comments about anything. He enjoyed his family; and, he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Mack was born on October 30, 1917, in Teague, Texas, to Ed Raymond Rickard and Minnie Blakey Rickard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Ivy; his daughter, Helen Ann; his granddaughter, Debbie Musgrave; his grandsons: David Musgrave and Allen Jones Jr.; and his great grandson, Dalton Lucas.
Survivors include his three sons: John Rickard and Jim Rickard of Horton and Jackie Rickard of Ferris; his two daughters: Pat Lucas of Midlothian and Darla Rickard of Palmer; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel in Commerce, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel. Rev. Brock Mitchell will officiate.
Interment with full military honors will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Horton, TX.
