Marie Claire Aurore Nicosia

Claire Bourassa Nicosia passed away peacefully in Commerce, TX. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 93.  She had been residing in Texas the past three years, but was a lifelong resident of New England.  She was raised in Lawrence, MA. by her parents Louis and Marie (Richer) Bourassa and then married the love of her life Anthony "Tony" Nicosia. Upon marriage, she moved to North Andover, MA. where she lived for 25 years before moving to Salem and then Nashua, New Hampshire in her later years.

She is predeceased by her husband Anthony Nicosia and her son Anthony (Tony) Jr., her son Frank Vercauteren, as well as her sister Loretta Bourassa, brother Lionel Bourassa and granddaughter Jessica LeBlanc.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Daub and her husband David, her daughter Ann Marie Nicosia and husband Jeffrey Greenleaf, her son Michael Vercauteren, her granddaughter Lynn Flynn and husband Bob, her grandson Kevin Daub, grandson Ian Vercauteren, grandson Adam Vercauteren and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Yolanda (Viola) Potter, brother-in-law Richard Nicosia and sister-in-law Barbara Nicosia Viator.

Claire was a graduate of Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson New Hampshire. She was a devout Catholic and well known for her unyielding faith and desire to help those in need. Claire worked side by side with her husband Tony in the restaurant business. They were best known for opening up the Lantern Brunch in Andover where it was their true pleasure to serve the community.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Commerce, Texas on Friday July 31,2020 at 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing prior to the Requiem Mass.

Claire's body will be laid to rest at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. at a future date, when it is possible to travel.
