Mary Helen Corley, 86, of Dike, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She attended North Texas State College and East Texas State University and worked many years as a secretary for Mobil Oil Geophysical Services in Dallas. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Mary was born on February 20, 1925, in Denton, Texas, to Helen Taylor Goode and Robert Ray Goode. On April 17, 1972, she married Billie M. Corley in Hugo, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her two daughters: Margaret Huie of Sulphur Springs and Martha Lawson of St. Louis, MO; her son, Robert M. Daws of Rio Rancho, NM; her sister, Virginia Gibson of Palestine; and her brother, Ben Taylor Goode of Brownwood; her grandchildren: Giles Goin Jr of Albany, Cristina Parada of Laguna Beach, CA, Robert Daws and Beth Daws of Rio Rancho, NM; and, five great-grandchildren: Lindsay, McKenzie, Garrett, Colt, Samantha with one more expected in September.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011, at 12:00 (Noon) until 1:00 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Connor Cemetery, Dike, Texas.
In lieu of usual remembrances, the family has requested that donations be made to the Connor Cemetery Association, 11531 FM 69 N, Sulphur Bluff, TX 75481, or Hospice at Memorial, 115 Airport Road, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482, or to a charity of your choice.
