Mary A. Speed, 87, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Brashear, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Mary was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on August 10, 1929, to Lois R. Higwood and Johnnie R. Ivey.
Mary's mission in life was to hunt for treasures in another mans trash. She always said "I buy junk, but I sell antiques", she could take something broken and falling apart and refurbish it to like new condition. She was a highly intelligent woman with a heart of gold.
Survivors include her son Larry Speed of Saratoga, Wyoming, her daughter, Carrie Robinson of Sulphur Springs, her grandchildren: Josh Eaton, Noah Eaton, Jeremiah Eaton, Anthony Eaton and Nathan Kislewski and her granddaughter, Bridget Davidson and her 12 great grandchildren and her I great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her two siblings: Jimmy Ivey and Carolyn Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her granddaughter Aimee Eaton, her brother Bobby Ivey, her sister Johnnie Bell Green and her parents John and Lois Ivey.
The family will hold a private service.
