Mary Ann Strickland, 74, of Cumby passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, in Tyler surrounded by her family.

Mary was born in Whitewright, Texas on May 20, 1943, to Helen Bernice Moore and Woodrow Brand. She married James Neal Strickland, August 8, 1958. She retired from Sherwood Medical and worked years in the food service industry at Stacey's Fish Fry in Miller Grove and McKay's Country Kitchen in Commerce.

Survivors include her three sons: Ronny Strickland and wife Kathy of Brady, Texas, Barry Strickland and wife Michelle of Clifton, Texas, Jeff Strickland and wife Tammy of Sulphur Springs, Texas and her daughter Darlene Strickland McKay and husband Bruce of Commerce, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her spouse James Neal Strickland, her parents, and, her sister Louise Smith.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 2:00 P.M until 3:00 P.M at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 3:30 P.M. under the shade tree at Cumby Cemetery with Bro. Mark Garrett officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mary Ann's grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Baxley, Bill Jenkins, Bill Scroggins, Harley Moore and Leonard Hammonds.

In Lieu of usual remembrances the Strickland family is requesting donations be made to the Commerce Animal Shelter, 1203 Oneal St. Commerce, TX. 75428.
