Mickey Jangaon Samonte

Mickey Jangaon Samonte, 46, of Dallas passed away at his residence on Friday, April 7, 2023. Mickey has been reunited with his mom and dad in heaven. Mickey was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 21, 1976 to Jaime Dizon Samonte and Esmeralda Naiva Jangaon.  He was married to Kawanna West Samonte.  

Mickey attended Naaman Forest High School and was passionate about cooking, music and spending time with friends and family. Mickey made a career as a call center Lead Supervisor at Assurant Solutions for 21 years where he made so many lifelong friendships.  Anyone who knew Mickey knew that he was kind, loving and always loved a good joke or prank. Like his mom, he had a special gift. He was a “people person” who could make friends with anyone. Like his Dad, he provided for his family and loved spending time being with family and giving long hugs.  Mickey’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.

Mickey is survived by his wife Kawanna, daughters: Macey Samonte of Dallas, Kerrington Howard and Kennedi Cobin of Dallas; son Graham Samonte of Houston; his sister Dina Reed and husband Ryan of Mckinney; brother Jamer Samonte and wife Mayela of Mckinney; nieces: Marissa Samonte, Kayla Reed, Alexia Samonte, Brianna Samonte and Meriah Samonte.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law Linda West of Dallas; sister-in-laws Raquel Buris and Vanessa Scott and husband Anthony; brother-in-law Kenyon West.

Memorial service followed by a reception will be held on Saturday, May 20th at 11:00am at Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church
