Norma Jean Moore entered into life eternal on July 22nd, 2012 after battling multiple ailments.
Jean, as she preferred to be called, married the love of her life Wadie Moore in October of 1952. She was a dedicated caregiver to Wadie after he was grievously wounded in action during the Korean War. Wadie preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage.
Jean was a homemaker, librarian, a warm and caring wife, mother, proud grandmother and unfaltering friend. She was born in Commerce, Texas in 1935 to Hollis Holt and Lillian Jackson Henderson.
Her parents, her brother Don Henderson and his son Christopher Henderson, also preceded Jean in death.
Two sons, Kevin Moore and his wife Susan of Rosewell, New Mexico, Quinn Moore and his wife Karen and her grandson Stacey Moore, all of Cumby, Texas, survive Jean. Also surviving her is one sister, Paula Markman of Tucson, Arizona, her nephew Craig Henderson and niece, Holly Burlison, both of Irving, Texas.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home of Commerce, Texas.
A viewing will be held on Friday night, July 27th, 2012 from 5-7 at Jones-Walker and Son Funeral Home located at 1209 Live Oak Street, Commerce, Texas. The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, July 28th, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 1401 Washington, Commerce, Texas. A brief graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery, located on FM 1531, Klondike, Texas, with Bro. Johnnie Henderson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Moore, Quinn Moore, Stacey Moore, Joe Spinato, Edward Earl Moore and Craig Henderson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Selvaggi and members of the First Marine Division, H37.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Wadie M. Moore Endowment at Texas A&M, Commerce, First Baptist Church of Commerce or your favorite charity.
